Prajwal Revanna, JDS MP from Karnataka, who is in the middle of a massive controversy over his sex videos and faces sexual assault charges, sought seven days to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing his case. The Hassan MP informed the probe team that he is outside Bengaluru.

Sharing his reply to the investigation team, Prajwal said on X, "Truth will prevail soon". This was the first reaction of the JDS MP since the massive row erupted.

Prajwal, the grandson of former Prime Minister and JDS patriarch HD Deve Gowda, allegedly fled to Frankfurt, Germany on April 26 after several obscene videos involving him went viral.

The SIT issued a notice to the Hassan MP and his father, HD Revanna, on Tuesday, asking them to appear before the SIT for investigation.

Prajwal's lawyer, in his reply to the notice, said "...My client Mr. Prajwal Revanna was on a trip outside Bangalore and told him about the notice and he said that my client needs seven days to come to Bangalore and appear before him as per the notice."

On April 21, five days before the Lok Sabha polling day in Karnataka, several videos of Prajwal allegedly harassing multiple women went viral. There are reportedly more than 2000 videos, allegedly including instances of sexual assault.

A massive row erupted, and on April 26, hours after voting ended in his Hassan constituency, Prajwal allegedly fled to Frankfurt, Germany, from Bengaluru.

The Siddharamaiah government formed the SIT on April 27, headed by ADGP BK Singh, and after a preliminary probe, a report was filed.

On April 28, the Revanna family's house help filed a complaint of sexual abuse against Prajwal and his father HD Revanna, who is an MLA. The case has been registered under IPC sections 354A (sexual abuse), 354D (stalking), 506 (threat) and 509 (insult caused to the modesty of a woman).

The JDS, on Tuesday, suspended Prajwal pending investigation, and stated that if found guilty, he will be expelled. The suspension order said, "Videos of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna allegedly harassing women are widely in circulation on social media and media and this has caused huge embarrassment to the party and its leadership".
