A 13-year-old boy was raped and murdered by two men who were denied sex by their respective partners in Kanpur. One of the accused has been arrested, and told the police that their partners had refused to have sex with them during Ramzan.
The incident took place on March 5, when the teen was headed to a gym. The accused, Azhar and Hussaini, kidnapped him, took him to a forest, tied him up and threatened him, said DCP Brajendra Dwivedi.
They then raped him, strangled him with a rope, and threw his body in a well, Hussaini told the police following his arrest. Azhar is still absconding and a search for him is underway.
Hussaini, one of the two accused arrested, revealed to the police during questioning that he and Azhar were refused sex by their respective partners during the holy month of Ramadan.
"My girlfriend and Ajju's (Azhar's) wife refused to have sex with us during Ramzan, but we were very keen to have sex with them. We wondered what we would do if these two did not have sex with us for a month till Ramzan ends. Following this, we laid our eyes on the 13-year-old boy. He was good-looking," Hussaini told the police.
According to police, the two accused told the boy that they were taking him along to meet a call-girl.
The boy went missing on March 5 and his family initiated a search for him.
The next morning, Hussaini, who lived in the same locality as the boy's, approached the family members and advised them to check their phones if the kidnappers had sent any messages. Upon checking, they saw a message on the child's uncle's phone, seeking Rs 10 lakh ransom.
The boy's family members later realised that Hussaini had vanished in the night when the minor was kidnapped, but was there the next morning. When the police arrived and questioned him, they found discrepancies in his statements.
Hussaini ultimately gave in and confessed that he and Azhar were involved in the kidnapping and murder of the child. While Hussaini was arrested, a manhunt was on to catch Azhar, the DCP said.
