Ranveer Singh has chosen restraint over rebuttal in the middle of the growing Don 3 controversy. After the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation directive against him over his exit from Farhan Akhtar’s crime thriller, the actor’s team released a statement. However, instead of directly addressing the allegations, the reported Rs 45 crore damages claim, or FWICE’s action, Ranveer kept his response deliberately measured.
The actor’s spokesperson said Ranveer Singh does not wish to add to the speculation around the matter and believes such professional disagreements are best handled privately.
Ranveer Singh Issues Statement Amid Don 3 Controversy
Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson said, “Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect."
The statement further read, “While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead."
While the statement did not directly mention FWICE’s directive or respond to the claims made by the federation, it stressed that Ranveer continues to hold “deep respect and goodwill" for everyone connected to the project and the Don franchise.
The spokesperson added that Ranveer hopes the franchise continues to receive the success it has enjoyed over the years. “Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance," the statement concluded.
FWICE Issues Non-Cooperation Directive Against Ranveer Singh
The controversy escalated after FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on Monday, May 25. The federation claimed that the actor did not respond to multiple requests to appear in person and explain his side of the story.
FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit told the media in Mumbai, “On April 11, Farhan filed a complaint that three weeks before the unit was to leave for the shoot, Ranveer left the movie."
According to Pandit, the federation later met the Don 3 team, including Farhan Akhtar, and heard their version of events in detail.
He said, “They narrated the full incident for two hours. They also presented all the expenses incurred on pre-production, which are accounted for and audited. These include hotel, location, and overseas travel bookings for over 200 workers. Everything is on paper. Nothing is hearsay."
Excel Entertainment Reportedly Seeks Rs 45 Crore
Excel Entertainment, which is backing Don 3, has reportedly demanded Rs 45 crore from Ranveer Singh as compensation for pre-production expenses incurred before his exit.
FWICE said it had asked Ranveer to appear before the federation to present his side, but the actor allegedly did not respond despite three reminders sent every 10 days.
Ashoke Pandit said, “When a federation is inviting you to talk, you say it’s not our domain. We know our jurisdiction. It’s a trade union. We don’t appreciate him saying that. We’ve taken a stand in the interest of the producers and the industry."
FWICE president BN Tiwari added, “We’ve decided to send a message to the industry that a superstar is not bigger than the law. We’re issuing a non-cooperation directive until he decides to meet us personally."
Ranveer Singh had exited Don 3 in December 2025, nearly two years after he was announced as the lead of the Farhan Akhtar directorial.
