Patna: The grand Patna Book Fair 2025 at Gandhi Maidan witnessed an intellectually charged atmosphere on December 9 as the EPIC Debate English, organized under the Jaano Junction EPIC Show at the Vyas Manch, concluded successfully. The competition brought together talented students from leading schools across Patna, showcasing sharp reasoning, powerful articulation, and strong perspectives on pressing contemporary issues.
Many renowned schools participated, and after the preliminary rounds, four teams qualified for the finals: St. Michael’s High School, BD Public School, St. Joseph’s Convent High School, and Notre Dame Academy.
The motion for the prelims round was “Degrees are becoming irrelevant in a skill-based world,” while the final round centered on the critical issue “AI should never be allowed to make decisions in healthcare.” The thought-provoking arguments offered a balanced blend of intellectual merit and competitive spirit.
In the prelims, the judging panel included Ms. Asmita Srivastava (Advocate, Delhi High Court) and Ms. Shreyashi Raj (Advocate, Patna High Court). The final round was evaluated by Mr. Kshitij Choudhary (CEO – Jaano Junction) and Dr. Astha (Psychiatrist, UK), while the session was presided over by Ms. Asmita Srivastava, who led the proceedings with insightful remarks and firm moderation.
After rigorous evaluation, Notre Dame Academy’s team — Angel Jha and Rishu Priya — secured first place, while the second place was awarded to St. Joseph’s Convent High School’s team — Alvira Khan and Shivangi Agarwal.
The organizers noted that the quality of arguments and the energy of participants captivated both the audience and experts alike.
