Patna: Kodawari Preschool & Daycare, a Japanese-inspired, child-first learning space, was formally inaugurated on 15 February, 2025 at Ramjaipal Nagar, Gola Road, Danapur, in a dignified ceremony attended by educators, parents, medical professionals, and community leaders.
The institution introduces a distinctive approach to early childhood education in the city, combining a plastic-free environment, activity-based learning, emotional well-being focus, and integrated daycare services under one roof.
Departing from the conventional lamp-lighting format, the inauguration was marked by a Bonsai Installation and Watering Ceremony, symbolising mindful and intentional growth.
Hon’ble Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister of Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Bihar, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Before the ceremony, he toured the campus and appreciated the rounded-edge safety infrastructure, wooden material-based plastic-free setup, thoughtfully designed learning spaces, and dedicated daycare areas.
The ceremonial unveiling of a large Bonsai installation was followed by a symbolic watering ritual performed by the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries, namely Dr. (Prof.) Alka Singh, Mrs. Advita Singh and the founder Mrs. Payal Palriwal. The act represented collective blessings for nurturing young minds with patience, care, and value-based growth.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary emphasised the importance of early value formation.
“Character building must precede academic education. When children grow in a safe and value-oriented environment from the beginning, they develop stronger personalities. Education is not merely about knowledge, but about shaping responsible human beings,” he said.
One of the major highlights of the launch was the Jaano Junction Citizen Townhall – Live Podcast Session, themed “Things That Matter to a Parent – How to Choose a Preschool for Your Child.”
Curated and moderated by Jaano Junction, the session created a candid and interactive platform for parents to engage directly with domain experts.
The panel featured:
Dr. Prof. Alka Singh, Veteran Pediatrician and former Head of Department and Superintendent at NMCH, with over three decades of experience in pediatrics and neonatology.
Mrs. Advita Singh, Psychologist and experienced counsellor specialising in child and adolescent mental health.
Mrs. Payal Palriwal, Founder and Director of Kodawari Preschool & Daycare.
Moderating the live podcast session, Jaano Junction’s CEO Kshitij Choudhary steered the conversation toward pressing parental concerns — including early brain development, screen exposure, nutrition, emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, and the impact of comparison culture in the formative years.
The discussion explored critical themes such as early brain development, screen exposure, nutrition, emotional regulation, behavioural patterns in toddlers, parental comparison culture, and the role of safe daycare environments.
Dr. Alka Singh highlighted the importance of early neurological development, noting that a significant portion of brain development occurs in the first few years of life. She stressed the need for balanced nutrition, proper sleep, and limited screen exposure to ensure healthy cognitive growth.
Mrs. Advita Singh addressed common parenting concerns around tantrums, emotional overload, and distinguishing temperament from deeper emotional struggles. She emphasised that emotional security in early childhood plays a foundational role in long-term mental well-being.
Founder Payal Palriwal reiterated Kodawari’s philosophy, stating that the aim is not merely to make children “school-ready,” but “life-ready.”
“We want children to grow with values, sensitivity, and independence before they step into structured academics,” she shared.
The Townhall format encouraged parent participation, making it less of a lecture and more of a community dialogue — aligning with Jaano Junction’s mission of informed civic conversations.
