Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took a swipe at the Congress, clubbing the party with Pakistan and saying the two have not yet recovered from ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Calling the Gandhis the “royal family" of the Congress, while campaigning for the Bihar assembly elections in Arrah, Modi said: “…When blasts were happening in Pakistan, the Congress ‘royal family’ lost their sleep. To date, both Pakistan and Congress namdaars haven’t recovered from Operation Sindoor."
He said it was “Modi’s guarantee" that Article 370 would be scrapped, and it has been with the Constitution of India now in force in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We had vowed to beat the terrorists on their home turf. And we fulfilled that promise again with Operation Sindoor, which has made the nation proud," he added.
Attacking the Congress over its alliance with the RJD in Bihar, Modi alleged that the party never wanted Tejashwi Yadav to be the chief ministerial candidate but was coerced into naming him. He said there is a “huge conflict" between the two allies and they cannot be trusted to form the government after the elections.
“…Congress never wanted an RJD candidate to be declared the chief ministerial face, lekin RJD ne Congress ke kanpatti par katta rakh kar CM post chori kar liya (but RJD snatched the chief ministerial post by pointing a gun at Congress, ensuring that its candidate would be the chief ministerial face)," he said.

He added: “There is a huge conflict between the RJD and the Congress. Congress’s demands were not taken into account in the manifesto… There is so much hatred between them before the elections, and after the elections, they will turn on each other. They cannot be trusted…"
Once again bringing in ‘jungle raj’ to highlight the RJD’s past in Bihar politics, Modi came down heavily on the election manifesto released by the Mahagathbandhan.
Calling it a document of “betrayal and lies", he praised the NDA manifesto as “honest and visionary". “For a Viksit Bihar, the NDA has presented an honest and visionary manifesto. All our schemes and policies are dedicated to Bihar’s rapid growth. On one side is the NDA’s honest manifesto, while the ‘jungle raj’ alliance has made its manifesto a document of betrayal and lies. I want to tell the people of ‘jungle raj’, yeh public hai sab jaanti hai (they are the public; they know everything)," he said.
Referring to the anti-Sikh riots in Delhi and across India, which took place on November 1 and 2, following the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards, he said if ‘jungle raj’ is associated with the RJD, then Congress identity is linked to the “genocide of Sikhs".
“If RJD brought ‘Jungle Raaj’ and appeasement politics to Bihar, then Congress’s identity is linked to the genocide of Sikhs. This was on November 1 and 2 in 1984. Today is also November 2. The members of the Congress party carried out the Sikh genocide in Delhi and many other parts of the country on November 1 and 2 of 1984. Even today, Congress is giving new positions to the perpetrators of the Sikh genocide within its party with full respect. They are promoting them. Be it Congress or RJD, they have no remorse for their sins," he added.
The Prime Minister predicted a record victory for the ruling NDA, which would continue providing a government that was “upright" and “foresighted" and build a “developed Bihar" that was necessary for ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Visibly pleased with the massive turnout, he said: “The youngsters here have filled me with enthusiasm. Analysts sitting in Delhi, who are racking their brains over poll arithmetic, would do well to come here and experience for themselves which way the wind is blowing. ‘Jungle raj wallahs’ are set to get the worst drubbing in history. The people of Bihar have not forgotten the ‘jungle raj’."
Indirectly referring to the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ taken out by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the PM alleged it was aimed to protect infiltrators (ghuspaithiye) who must be driven out lest they capture the resources meant for the people of Bihar.
“The jungle raj wallahs have very dangerous intentions. Be aware of them," he said and also uttered a proverb in local dialect Bhojpuri, a rough translation of which is “the one responsible for destroying the field is now claiming to sow fresh seeds".
Pointing out region-specific instances of alleged misrule during the RJD regime, Modi further recalled the abduction of a doctor in Tarari, near Arrah, two decades ago, and the Naxal insurgency that took its toll on Dalmia Nagar, a once bustling industrial town in the adjoining district of Rohtas.
He also disclosed that the NDA was planning to develop the birthplace of Veer Kunwar Singh, the ruler of the erstwhile princely estate of Jagdishpur, who was one of the heroes of the Revolt of 1857, asserting that “we believe in development while protecting cultural heritage".
“But Congress RJD are known for being disdainful towards our heritage. They berated the Maha Kumbh held at Prayagraj. Recently, the Congress ‘naamdaar’ (Gandhi) made fun of the Chhath Puja festival. These people must be taught a lesson. I would urge those who have returned home for Chhath Puja to stay back to vote in this election," he said.
