A video circulating on social media shows a girl booked for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a student protest issuing a public apology for her remarks. In the video, she claims she is 15 years old, expresses regret over her actions, and appeals for forgiveness. NDTV has reported that it could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

She further states that she is "just 15 years old," although the FIR reportedly mentions her age as 25. Calling it her "first and last mistake," she apologises to the country and says she is deeply ashamed of her remarks.

According to the complaint, the girl's alleged remarks insulted the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister and had the potential to promote disharmony and disturb public peace. Police have not publicly commented on the video's authenticity or whether the investigation has established the girl's age.

In the video, the Prime Minister said that while the language used against him and his late mother was unacceptable, he believed the young protesters should be guided rather than punished. Describing them as "misguided youngsters," he said that anger and retaliation were not the solutions.
