Six dead, several injured after landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu

The landslide occurred at around 5 pm when the people sitting on the edge of the road were crushed by a big tree that toppled down along with the debris.

Three women were among the six people who died after a landslide near the PWD road opposite Gurdwara Manikaran Sahib in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu on Sunday evening. Several others were injured in the incident.

The landslide occurred at around 5 pm when the people sitting on the edge of the road were crushed by a big tree that toppled down along with the debris. The injured have been admitted to Jari Hospital for further medical treatment.

According to the information, a roadside hawker, a car rider and three tourists who were present on the spot are among the dead.

Additional District Magistrate of Kullu, Ashwani Kumar, said that six people have lost their lives in the accident, while many have been injured.

A police team led by SHO Manikaran is present at the site, coordinating rescue and relief operations. The field revenue agency is also on-site, assessing the situation and assisting with emergency measures.

A team of the fire department from Jari is also on its way to the site of the accident. Police are yet to ascertain the identities of the dead.
