Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis is excited for the IPL 2024 opener against the Chennai Super Kings as MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are all set to lock horns in the tournament once again at the Chepauk stadium on March 22, Friday. This will be Kohli and Dhoni's 17th IPL season as both men have been the star attractions of the tournament since its inception.
With Kohli aiming to get into form after his paternity, Dhoni will be taking up a new role after relinquishing the CSK captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad on the eve of day one of the new IPL season.
Speaking to RCB ahead of the game after the training session on Thursday, Du Plessis said that the preparation has been good from the squad. The RCB skipper would say that pitting two of India's greatest, Kohli and Dhoni, is the best way to start the IPL season.
"It has been a really great week, Andy and Mo have done some incredible things. We really gel together as a squad, so it has been good preparation. Obviously, what better way can you start the IPL, than the game you have tomorrow, two of India's greatest - MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in the opening match of the IPL, so everyone is just excited for the game," Faf du Plessis said in a video released by RCB.
