Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita is preparing to assume her husband's post. Hitting out at Sunita, Hardeep Puri said, "She has isolated her colleagues. Madam is preparing to take over the post. Rabri Devi had also done the same in Bihar."
Following Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate, Sunita Kejriwal has been addressing press conferences from the same chair from which her husband used to address the media.
Hardeep Singh Puri's claim of Sunita Kejriwal assuming the chief minister's post comes days after Union Minister Anurag Thakur hinted that she might follow in the footsteps of Rabri Devi.
"When Lalu Prasad Yadav was caught in the fodder scam, Rabri Devi used to make announcements and later she caught hold of the chair gradually," said Anurag Thakur.
Meanwhile, Hardeep Singh Puri slammed Arvind Kejriwal and said the AAP supremo had said he would never open liquor stalls but is currently involved in a liquor scam. He also observed that Kejriwal did not join the investigation into the alleged scam despite the Enforcement Directorate issuing summons nine times.
"If people mess up, raids will definitely happen," added the Union minister.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in the Delhi liquor policy case. He is currently in the custody of the central probe agency.
