Rahul Gandhi has responded sharply after Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party workers clashed in Patna Friday afternoon, in violence triggered by a video of foot soldiers from the former using 'extremely abusive language' to refer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother, Heeraben Modi.
The controversy originated in Darbhanga, where inflammatory remarks were reportedly made from a stage during Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, targeting both the PM and his late mother. The incident rapidly went viral, resulting in widespread condemnation from the BJP In response, the BJP organized a protest in Patna, which turned confrontational as party workers and Congress supporters exchanged heated words, culminating in physical clashes.
Darbhanga Police swiftly arrested Rizwi Raja (also referred to as Mohammad Rizvi alias Raja) in connection with the incident. He reportedly wore a Congress flag during the rally and was taken into custody following a viral video showing him using an expletive against PM Modi
