

Siwan Shooting: A minor road dispute in Bihar’s Siwan district turned into a deadly shootout on Wednesday evening, claiming the life Harsh Kumar Singh- nephew of BJP leader Manoj Kumar Singh- while leaving another person severely injured.
The incident took place near the Laxmipur Andar Dhala overbridge under the Town Police Station area around 6.30 pm on Wednesday when Chandan Singh was travelling with his son, Harsh Kumar Singh, to attend a family function when their vehicle was involved in a minor collision with another car, news agency IANS reported.
What began as a brief argument quickly intensified, with the accused opening fire during the altercation. Harsh sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, while Chandan was severely injured. He was initially treated locally and later referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
Eyewitnesses said that the firing has created panic in the area, with people rushing to safety. The entire incident was captured on camera and the video is doing rounds the corner on social media platforms.
Senior police officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Police said that the accused have been identified and raids are underway to arrest those involved. Meanwhile, one accused, identified as Chotu Kumar was apprehended after a police encounter. He sustained bullet injuries in both legs and has been referred to Patna for treatment.
The incident has sparked tension in the area and raised fresh concerns over law and order, with authorities urging residents to remain calm while assuring strict action against the culprits.
