Bhupendra Patel took oath as the chief minister of Gujarat on Monday, 12 December, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and all the chief ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states.
Along with Patel, 16 other MLAs also took oath as cabinet ministers.
After winning a historic 156 seats, the highest ever won by any party in the Gujarat Assembly elections till date, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has returned to power for the seventh consecutive term in the state.
