A shocking video of a pet dog slipping under the tracks as its owner tried to drag it onto a moving train has gone viral on social media.

The clip, reportedly recorded at the Jhansi railway station, shows the man in a blue T-shirt and jeans struggling to get his golden retriever onto a moving Rajdhani Express train first so he can follow. However, as the train picks up speed, the panicked dog resists, unable to jump onto the moving coach.

The animal then loses its footing and falls between the platform and the train, with its leash still clutched in the owner's hand.

Passengers on the platform rush to help, looking down at the tracks in shock. Meanwhile, the owner appears frozen, unsure of what to do. The video cuts off before revealing the dog's fate.

Multiple reports have claimed that the railway workers managed to rescue the animal and reunite it with its owner. However, Jaano Junction could not independently verify the claim.

The viral video contains disturbing elements. Readers' discretion is advised.

The video left social media users angry. While a section of the internet enquired about the dog, others expressed their anguish towards the owner.

"How is the dog? Did it survive?" a user asked, while another added, "Some people just don't deserve to have pets."

"This is dangerous enough to do with a human. Even the dog had more sense and tried to resist once he realised what was happening. This man is a front-runner for the 'World's Largest Single-Celled Organism' Award 2025," one of the users said.

The Railways have yet to react to the incident.
