People of South Delhi have been shaken to the core as a triple murder case has come into light on Wednesday from Satbari Khark village. Three members from a family of four were found murdered at their home in South Delhi’s Satbari Khark village on August 20.
The victims were identified as Prem Singh (45), his wife Rajani (40) and their elder son Ritik (24). The prime suspect is the 22 year old son, Siddharth and he is still missing and on the run.
After receiving the report from a passerby who saw the open gate and believed that someone may have been injured, officers discovered three bodies inside the house upon arrival.
Initial reports indicate a woman was found dead with her mouth tied, suggesting that she was smothered. A man’s body was discovered on the floor, soaked in blood, in a separate room. The crime scene was discovered after neighbors notified the police when a foul odor began emerging from House number 155 in Satbari Khark Gaon.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) specialists and district crime team were brought to process the scene. The area was cordoned off until evidence was gathered and the bodies were photographed before being taken for an autopsy.
Police strongly suspect Siddharth’s involvement in the crime. According to the authorities, the younger son had reportedly confessed to someone about his crime and his decision to not live there anymore after the murder. Locals informed the police that Siddharth had been receiving psychiatric treatment and was living under close observation for several years. The claims of the locals stood reliable as officers found documents which may have belonged to the alleged suspect.
Investigators discovered that Siddharth had been receiving treatment for the past 12 years after getting diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and aggressive behavior.
Siddharth’s father worked a prime job, while his mother, Rajani, was a homemaker.
Investigators are occupied with piecing together the exact chain of events that led to the murders. The exact cause of death will be confirmed by the post-mortem report.
