The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said it had foiled a potential terrorist attack in Michigan, arresting multiple suspects who were allegedly plotting a violent act over the Halloween weekend. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrests took place earlier in the day and credited law-enforcement agencies for preventing the alleged plot.
“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend," Kash Patel wrote.
“Thanks to the men and women of the FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland," he added.
The FBI did not immediately release details about the suspects, the nature of the planned attack or how it was uncovered. Kash Patel said further information would be shared soon.
