One Indian national was killed in an attack on the MV Cape Dao while the vessel was transiting towards India, the Indian Embassy in Oman said.
The embassy said it was closely monitoring the attack and coordinating with Omani authorities over the safety of all crew members on board, including 19 Indian nationals.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one Indian national in this attack. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,” the embassy said.
The Indian mission said it was coordinating with the Recruitment and Placement of Seafarers (RPSL) agency and was in touch with the family of the deceased.
