Punjabi singer Talwiinder has addressed recent dating speculation surrounding him and actor Disha Patani, telling The Hollywood Reporter India that the pair are taking things slowly and are not ready to bow to outside pressure.
The rumours began after a video from Nupur Sanon’s wedding, which showed Talwiinder and Patani together, started circulating online. The clip also provided one of the first public views of Talwiinder without his painted face covering. The two later caught attention again when they appeared together at Lollapalooza, increasing media and fan interest.
In the interview, Talwiinder said that their acquaintance is recent and the sudden spotlight caught both of them off-guard. “We just got to know each other right before the wedding,” he explained. “All of this attention kind of caught us off-guard. We don’t want to give in to the pressure or the rumours. We’re still discovering ourselves, we are still figuring out ourselves. I’ll leave it at that if they’re going to spread the rumours, I’ll let the rumours be rumours.”
Talwiinder opened up about his connection to Bollywood and what really matters to him as an artist. He grew up listening to icons like Mohit Chauhan, KK, Kailash Kher, and Arijit Singh, so yeah, Bollywood music runs deep for him. But even though he loves those songs and Hindi films, he’s not out here desperately chasing a spot in the movies. “For me, it’s not like something I am chasing,” he said. “Movies need music and when it aligns, it works out naturally. I believe in sitting with the director and understanding the scene and tone, if you tell me, I can write it right away.”
Talwiinder’s comments suggest a calculated approach to both his public life and career trajectory, open to collaborations with film but cautious about letting rumours define his personal choices. As the singer navigates this newfound visibility, he appears intent on letting his work and time reveal the next steps.
