Actor Aamir Khan, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, and music composer Shankar Mahadevan together sang the title track of their film, Dil Chahta Hai, during Javed Akhtar's 80th birthday celebration. The trio took over the stage and gave a musical surprise to not just those present at the bash, but also to fans.

Shankar Mahadevan, dressed in a blue kurta and matching trousers, was joined by Aamir in a blue kurta and black pants, and Farhan in a printed beige kurta and pants. The group was seen enjoying the music, and Shankar encouraged the audience to join in as well. The video, which has been shared on social media, has been going viral.

Most people loved the fact that Aamir joined to sing the song. However, some criticised them too because Saif Ali Khan, who was also a part of Dil Chahta Hai, was recently attacked and is still recuperating in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital.
