Stree, the first film of the horror-comedy universe by the Maddock films, is all set to make an on-screen come-back with its sequel Stree 2. Yes, you read it right, the shooting of the sequel film of the 2018 blockbuster has started.
The update was given by Maddock films by releasing a video on their YouTube channel and other social media-handles.
The horror-comedy was a great success back in the year 2018. It was made with a budget of just ₹27cr. and made a world-wide box-office collection of around ₹180cr.
The movie starring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles with supporting role by Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee got a verdict of super-hit and the crowd was said to be in love with the story of the film.
What is looking different in the sequel?
As it can be seen in the shooting-announcement video released by Maddock films and Jio-Studios on their respective YouTube channels, the story looks completely different from the part-1.
In part-1 of the movie it says, “oh… stree, Kal aana” which shows that the people of the city are in fear with the stree. In part-2 it says, “oh… Stree, Raksha karna” which shows that people of the city are asking her to help them from any problem instead of fearing from her.
At the end of the video the problem is also revealed as “Sir-katey Kaa Aatank” which shows that this time Stree will fight with a devil for the people and not with the people, which is in itself a unique and contrasting concept from the first part.
What are the audiences' expectations from this film?
The crowd has a lot of expectations from this movie as it is coming with a great sequel value with it.
This time the pressure on this movie will be double than the last one as it is also connected with the movie “Bhediya-2” which is another upcoming movie from the horror-comedy universe. As this movie is expected to release after Stree-2, the story and the hype of the film will also decide how Bhediya-2 performs at the box-office.
