The makers of Toxic, starring Yash, announced this week that the film’s March 19 release has been pushed to June 4, citing uncertainty around the situation in the Middle East a market that matters for Indian releases.

By contrast, producers of Dhurandhar 2 confirmed the film will keep its March 19 date, and the team moved ahead with a trailer rollout. The studio behind the project has indicated the sequel’s theatrical plan is unchanged, leaving it free of the scheduling ripple created by Toxic’s postponement.

The Middle East tensions did not impact Dhurandhar 2's schedule because the Dhurandhar’s first part did not reach theatrical distribution throughout the Gulf region which resulted in less box-office impact from the Gulf area's temporary decline than it would have for a film designed to be shown throughout the Gulf. Trade reports at the time said several Gulf countries did not clear the earlier film.

The date change enables Dhurandhar 2 to operate without competition in North India on March 19. Its only serious theatrical rival on the date is the Pawan Kalyan starrer Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which was moved up to the same weekend in some trade notices, a clash that will play out regionally, especially in Telugu-speaking states.

Toxic’s producers said the move was taken after consulting distribution partners in major overseas markets and with an eye on reaching the widest audience possible; they framed the decision as cautious and considerate of partners and viewers. For Yash, the delay buys more time to align a truly global rollout rather than risking a compromised opening.

Dhurandhar 2’s team, meanwhile, appears focused on domestic momentum, with trailers and posters scheduled, they’re banking on the sequel’s existing brand recall and an ensemble cast to deliver strong openings across India. How much the absence of Gulf revenues will dent the final tally depends on ancillary windows and overseas streaming/TV deals the makers can secure.

The postponement of Toxic came about because its producers decided to delay the show for business reasons which show the industry dependency on Gulf markets to generate international revenue. The Gulf territory restrictions from its previous release prevent Dhurandhar 2 from continuing forward because its earlier distribution already covered those areas. For fans two big releases now sit in different slots because they will not face each other on March 19.
