The wedding celebrations of Arjun Tendulkar and entrepreneur Saaniya Chandhok began in Mumbai on Thursday, drawing some of the biggest names from cricket, business and Bollywood. The son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar tied the knot with his longtime partner in an intimate yet star-studded ceremony attended by influential families and celebrities.
The ceremony, held in South Mumbai, brought together prominent figures from different fields. Industrialist Mukesh Ambani arrived with his wife Nita Ambani, along with their son Akash Ambani and daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta. The family briefly posed for photographers before heading inside the venue.
From the world of cinema, veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were also present, although they skipped posing for the media outside and joined guests inside the venue. Actor Abhishek Bachchan arrived with his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and the couple greeted photographers at the entrance.
Cricket personalities also marked their presence at the wedding. Former Indian captain MS Dhoni attended the ceremony with his wife Sakshi Dhoni. The couple was seen wearing white at the entrance as Dhoni encouraged Sakshi to pose for photographers.
Legendary singer Asha Bhosle was among the early guests to reach the venue, smiling for cameras outside before joining the celebrations inside.
Arjun and Saaniya’s relationship has long been known among close circles. Their families have shared ties for years, with Sachin Tendulkar maintaining a longstanding association with Saaniya’s grandfather, industrialist Ravi Ghai. The couple reportedly became close through mutual friends and family gatherings before their friendship gradually turned into a relationship.
According to people familiar with the families, Arjun’s sister Sara Tendulkar played a role in bringing the two closer. Sara and Saaniya were friends and often met for Pilates sessions, brunches and holidays together, during which Arjun and Saaniya began spending more time together.
The couple got engaged on August 13, 2025, in a private ceremony at the Ghai residence in Mumbai attended only by immediate family and close friends. News of the engagement remained largely under wraps until Sachin Tendulkar confirmed it publicly months later.
In the lead-up to the wedding, the families and close friends gathered in Jamnagar for a religious ceremony hosted by the Ambani family, who share close ties with both households.
Arjun, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai and Assam and has also featured for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, has been gradually building his career in professional cricket. Saaniya, on the other hand, has carved out her own identity in business and runs a growing pet spa chain.
With leading figures from cricket, cinema and business attending, the wedding has quickly become one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year in Mumbai. More guests are expected to join the celebrations as the festivities continue through the day.
