IPL to resume on May 17, final on June 3

A total of 17 matches will be played across 6 venues, starting May 17, 2025, and culminating in the final on June 3, 2025.

IPL 2025 new schedule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the resumption of the IPL 2025. The league will resume from Saturday (May 17) with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The final have been pushed to June 3, however, the venues for the playoffs and the season finale is yet to be decided. Meanwhile, the revised schedule includes two double-headers, which will be played on Sundays.

The decision was announced after extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders. A total of 17 matches will be played across six venues.

The playoffs are scheduled as follows:

  • Qualifier 1 – May 29

  • Eliminator – May 30

  • Qualifier 2 – June 1

  • Final – June 3
