Tears, silence, heartbreak as bodies of 26 Pahalgam victims return home

At least 26 tourists were killed in Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday after the terrorists confirmed their religious identities. Heartbreaking images of tourists' bodies being received by friends and families across India have now emerged.

Bodies of tourists who died in the Pahalgam attacks are being brought to their respective cities in India, with top leaders and chief ministers arriving at the locations to console the family members.

In the attack that primarily targeted Hindus, male members of families were shot dead in front of their families by The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba. At least 26 tourists were killed in Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday after the terrorists confirmed their religious identities.

Heartbreaking images of tourists’ bodies being received by friends and families across India have now emerged.

Even though Nathaniel identified as a Christian, he was shot dead. His daughter, Akansha, survived a gunshot wound to her leg.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two tourists from Karnataka - Manjunath Rao and Bharath Bushan - also arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was present with the grieving families as soon as their bodies were flown in.

While Rao will be cremated in his hometown Shivamogga, Bushan's last rites will be held in Bengaluru.
