Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi continued her signature style of making statements with her bags. She arrived in Parliament today (December 17) carrying a bag that read, "We stand with the Hindus and Christians of Bangladesh". This comes a day after the Congress leader was seen sporting a bag emblazoned with the word "Palestine" on it.

With the ‘Bangladesh’ bag on her shoulder, Priyanka Gandhi was seen leading a protest by Congress MPs against the atrocities committed against Hindus and Christians in Bangladesh on the Parliament premises on Tuesday.

Priyanka Gandhi, who is attending her maiden Parliament session after her recent election victory from Kerala's Wayanad, also raised her voice against the atrocities committed against minorities in Bangladesh during the Lok Sabha session on Monday (December 16).

Speaking during Zero Hour, she called for the government’s support for those suffering from these attacks. “The government should raise the issue of atrocities on minorities, both Hindus and Christians, in Bangladesh. It should discuss this with the Bangladesh government and support those who are in pain,” she stated.

Minorities in Bangladesh, including Hindus, have witnessed targeted attacks and their places of worship damaged in the chaos that descended after the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's regime on August 5.

There have been a spate of incidents of violence against Hindus and other minorities, as well as attacks on temples in Bangladesh in the last few weeks that triggered strong concerns in New Delhi.

Bangladesh on Tuesday acknowledged 88 incidents of communal violence against minorities, primarily Hindus.
