An X user, Gajender Yadav, shared a distressing incident involving his wife and an Uber driver on the social media platform. He accused the driver of attempting to overcharge his wife and criticised Uber for failing to respond to her SOS calls during the incident. In the end, Uber reached out to Yadav confirming the action taken against the driver.

Uber's response to the situation was to ask for confirmation of the cash paid to the driver, which frustrated Yadav further. He emphasised that the issue was not about the money but about the safety concerns of passengers. In a subsequent post, he mentioned that Uber had refunded the money but questioned why understanding the safety concerns was so challenging.

In a subsequent post, Yadav gave an update regarding the SOS button present inside Uber cabs. “On SOS thing Uber says that's the third party thing and not done by Uber,” Yadav said.

Have you encountered such incidents while travelling in an app cab? If yes, then do go through Yadav’s post to be prepared in such situations.
