Six people, including the father of a 16-year-old girl, have been arrested in Chhattisgarh's Raipur for repeatedly raping her, forging her Aadhaar card to show her as an adult and married, and handing over her newborn son to another person, police said.
According to the complaint filed at New Rajendra Nagar police station, the girl alleged that her father raped her at a relative's house in Amlihdih and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident. Fearing for her life, she did not initially report the matter.
Police said the accused father allegedly continued to rape her, resulting in her becoming pregnant. After she informed her aunt about the pregnancy, the aunt allegedly informed her father.
The father then brought abortion pills and, with the aunt's help, assaulted the woman and forced her to take the medication, resulting in a miscarriage, according to the complaint.
Police said the father allegedly raped her again on multiple occasions, following which she became pregnant in 2025.
After learning about the pregnancy, the father allegedly took her to the house of a woman acquaintance, who offered to keep her there and arrange for her safe delivery.
A few days later, the woman allegedly sent her to the home of one of her friends, where she stayed for around two months.
According to the complaint, the father's acquaintance concealed the woman's age, presented her as older and claimed that she was married before admitting her to Vasudev Hospital in Danganiya, Raipur. The woman subsequently gave birth to a son through a caesarean section.
Police said that after the delivery, the newborn was allegedly handed over to another person by the doctor, the girl's father and other people involved in the matter.
The girl was allegedly made to sign certain documents, which she did out of fear.
She was kept at the father's acquaintance's friend's house for around 15 days after the delivery, following which her father allegedly took her back home.
The complaint alleges that the accused forged the survivor's Aadhaar card, increased her age and falsely showed her as an adult and married to facilitate the delivery at the hospital.
Based on the complaint of the survivor, a case was registered against the accused in New Rajendra Nagar Police Station under sections 64(2)(f), 65, 336, 337, 61(2), 351(2), 115(2), 89, 3(5) BNS, sections 4(2), 5(n), 6 of POCSO Act, section 81 of Juvenile Justice Act.
Taking the matter seriously, senior police officers directed the New Rajendra Nagar police to arrest the accused. Police subsequently arrested six people, including the woman's father, and seized two mobile phones from their possession. Further action is being taken against the accused.
