Several people are feared dead after a truck ploughed into a crowd and multiple vehicles on Indore’s Airport Road on Sunday. Officials have confirmed two deaths so far, with the toll expected to rise.

The accident occurred when a speeding truck lost control and rammed into several vehicles, including multiple e-rickshaws, on a busy stretch near a hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the truck struck several people and vehicles indiscriminately. A motorcycle became trapped under the truck and caught fire due to friction, which quickly spread and engulfed the truck itself.

Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot to bring the blaze under control and carry out rescue operations. The injured were shifted to Geetanjali Hospital, with local residents also pitching in to help.

Authorities are probing the cause of the accident and working to ascertain the exact number of casualties.
