Qatar all set to host FIFA World Cup 2022

A much-awaited moment is here as Qatar is all set to host FIFA World Cup 2022. The stage is all set in Doha to organise FIFA's first match taking place today, while becoming the first country in the middle east to host football's mega tournament.

The opening ceremony of the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2022 will take place on Sunday (November 20), and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm IST before  the start of the match. 

Interestingly, the first place will be taking place between the host country Qatar and Ecuador.

As of now, FIFA is yet to announce a complete list of performers for the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. But South Korea’s BTS said Jungkook, one of seven members of the boy band, is gearing up to perform at the ceremony. Other names reported to be performing in the opening ceremony include Colombian pop star Shakira, who sang the 2010 World Cup’s official song, the Black-Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams, and Nora Fatehi. 

Fans can watch the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Sports 18 in India and can also stream it online on Jio TV.

A total of 32 teams will take part in the megaevent, which for the first time will be played in November and December, as all the previous FIFA world cups have taken place in summer season.

Footballs fans would not only be noticing the change in the season in which FIFA has been taking place in fact the league is holding a box full of surprises for them.

The defending champions, France will start as favorites, along with the world's number one team, Brazil, and two-time winners Argentina. Former champions Germany, Spain, Uruguay, and England, along with the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Croatia, will also aim to achieve greater heights.
