Three days after the Pahalgam terror attack, firing was reported from multiple Pakistani posts along the Line of Control (LoC) by the Pakistan Army throughout the night - an unusual development not reported in recent times, according to sources.

The Indian Army has retaliated. There have been no casualties reported from the Indian side.

"The Pakistani Army fired small arms along the border. Our troops responded. Further details are being ascertained. There have been no casualties," said an official.

Not so long ago, the Pakistani Army opened fire from small arms on an Indian post along LoC in Poonch district in February. Subsequently, India also retaliated. No injuries or material damage were reported.

However, this incident comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists. Both India and Pakistan have been on high alert with Islamabad issuing a no-fly zone over the Arabian Sea amid the Jammu and Kashmir terror incident and a possible missile test scheduled for today.
