Mysterious monolith ‘steels’ the show in remote UK hill

JJ News Desk

The mysterious saga of monoliths is not over yet, it seems! The latest addition to this global phenomenon was discovered in the landscapes of Hay-on-Wye region of Wales, UK. Over the weekend, local resident Richard Haynes stumbled upon a massive, 10-foot-long steel structure that stood on a remote hill.

This sighting, as reported by the New York Post, adds to the growing list of monoliths that have been appearing across the globe since 2020. “I thought it looked a bit bizarre and might be a scientific media research thing collecting rainwater,” Richard told Wales Online.

The origins of these monoliths have sparked widespread speculation and intrigue. From the deserts of Utah in the United States to the beaches of the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom, these towering slabs of metal have been found in some of the most unexpected places.

The monoliths, typically about 10 to 12 feet tall, emerge without warning and often vanish just as mysteriously. Their sleek, futuristic design has led many to draw comparisons to alien artifacts, though they are believed to be the work of artists.

In India, a monolith was spotted in Ahmedabad back in 2021. The 6-foot-tall monolith was seen at the Symphony Park in Thaltej area, but later vanished.
