More than 40 premium smartphones stolen during DJ Snake's concert at BKC

JJ News Desk

More than 40 premium smartphones were allegedly stolen by unidentified persons during the Sunburn Arena concert of French music legend DJ Snake at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai.

The police said on Sunday that they received many complaints from the attendees of the concert regarding the phone theft. The event took place at MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) ground on Saturday night.

The event witnessed high footfall and the venue was jam-packed as it was being organised after the gap of pandemic restrictions. According to police, the culprits took advantage of the huge rush in BKC.

Cops have also started checking the CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the accused. Backpacks, handbags and other baggage were not allowed inside the venue and the participants were allowed to enter the concert only after verifying their ID cards.

The police have registered four to five FIRs under section 379 (punishment for theft) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after more than 40 high-end mobile phones were stolen or misplaced at the venue, the official said.

Some people took to Twitter to complain about the theft during the event.
