Man caught filming woman bathing in Ayodhya; obscene videos found on phone

Police examined the accused's mobile phone and recovered ten videos of women bathing, along with several obscene photos and videos. The matter is under investigation and the police are currently interrogating the accused.

Uttar Pradesh Police detained a man who was allegedly caught while filming a woman bathing in a guest house in Ayodhya. The accused, identified as Saurabh, hails from UP’s Bahraich district and works at the guest house where the incident took place.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 6:00 am on Friday. A woman pilgrim, who was staying at the guest house, noticed a shadow while she was bathing. On looking up, she saw the accused recording her with a mobile phone from above the tin shed roof of the bathroom. Alarmed and scared, the woman screamed and rushed out. Other guests staying at the guest house heard her cries and quickly gathered, managing to catch the accused and hand him over to the Ram Janmabhoomi police.

Police examined the accused’s mobile phone and recovered ten videos of women bathing, along with several obscene photos and videos. The matter is under investigation and the police are currently interrogating the accused.

The guest house, identified as Raja Guest House, is located just 50 meters from Gate Number 3 of the Ram Temple. The woman, approximately 30-years-old, had arrived in Ayodhya from Varanasi along with four others to visit the Ram Temple. They had booked two rooms at the guest house on Thursday evening, paying Rs 500 per room.

Describing the incident, the woman said, “There was a tin shed over the bathroom. While I was bathing, I suddenly noticed a shadow above. Then I saw someone recording with a mobile phone. I got scared, screamed, and ran out after putting on my clothes. Other guests staying at the guest house also rushed out and caught the man. Police have taken him into custody and are investigating.”

Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
