Delhi Metro Fare Hike 2025: Delhi Metro fare has been increased from today as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a revision in fare rates effective Monday, August 25, 2025.
The Delhi Metro fares have been increased on both the normal and the express lines, and changes will be applied on both regular days and national holidays/Sundays.
While for the normal metro, fare charges vary from Rs 1 to Rs 4, the same on the Airport Express Line will vary from Rs 1 to Rs 5.
Delhi Metro Price Hike 2025: The revised fares for Delhi Metro travel are now based on distance and the day of travel (normal days vs holidays/Sundays).
For a distance of 0–2 km, the fare has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11 on both normal days and holidays/Sundays.
For 2–5 km, the fare has been revised from Rs 20 to Rs 21 on normal days, and from Rs 10 to Rs 11 on holidays/Sundays.
For 5–12 km, passengers will now pay Rs 32 instead of Rs 30 on normal days, and Rs 21 instead of Rs 20 on holidays/Sundays.
For 12–21 km, the revised fare is Rs 43 (up from Rs 40) on normal days, and Rs 32 (up from Rs 30) on holidays/Sundays.
For 21–32 km, the fare has gone up from Rs 50 to Rs 54 on normal days, and from Rs 40 to Rs 43 on holidays/Sundays.
For travel beyond 32 km, the fare has increased from Rs 60 to Rs 64 on normal days, and from Rs 50 to Rs 54 on holidays and Sundays.
The Airport Express Line fares have also been revised, with an increase ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 5.
Delhi Metro Price Hike 2025: Fare Revision In Past
Notably, the last fare revision for the Delhi Metro took place in 2017, when fares were increased after an eight-year gap. The fare hike was implemented in two phases: the first phase began on May 10, 2017, and the second phase commenced on October 1, 2017.
Before this, the fares had remained unchanged since 2009, marking a significant period without adjustments
