Singer Monali Thakur was admitted to a hospital in West Bengal after she faced difficulty in breathing during a live performance at the Dinhata Festival in Cooch Behar on January 21. She was initially hospitalised in Dinhata Sub-District Hospital, and was later transferred to a private hospital in Cooch Behar city.

Monali Thakur was performing the song Tune Mari Entriyan at the festival. After finishing her performance, she apologised to the audience and announced that she could not continue performing. The singer added, "I am extremely unwell today. The organisers know that the show was almost cancelled. It's very difficult for me to promise and not keep it up."

Earlier in December 2024, Monali had walked out of a concert in Varanasi which was marred by mismanagement. She had to abruptly end the show due to several issues, including an improperly set-up stage that posed a risk of ankle injury.

She addressed the Varanasi concert incident where she had to cut her performance short due to mismanagement. In a detailed Instagram post, she criticised the organisers and refuted their alleged claims of sexual harassment against her and her crew.

Monali Thakur, now based in Switzerland, is renowned for hit songs like Sawar Loon, Karle Pyaar Karle, Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, Dhol Baaje, Cham Cham, Dhanak, Laila Majnu, Badri Ki Dulhania, and Khol De Baahein.
