With a dash of sass and a pinch of suave, actor Deepika Padukone has addressed the chatter around her silence on husband Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge, offering a sharp response to social media speculation.
The actor reacted in the comments section of an Instagram post, where users questioned why she hadn’t publicly celebrated the film’s success. The page also ran a poll asking fans if it's a "calculated snub" or it's them over analysing her silence.
Responding directly, Deepika wrote, “I watched it way before any of you did,” before adding, “Now who is the joke on?” – a pointed reply to those reading into her online activity.
Why was Deepika Padukone trolled?
Deepika’s absence from the celebratory noise around her husband's film had sparked discussion among fans, with many questioning her lack of visible support. Her latest comment, however, suggests a pushback against the idea that social media posts are the only measure of personal or professional backing.
This is not the first time the actor has supported Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar. Around its release in December 2025, she had shared a positive note on Instagram Stories, praising the first part of the actioner and encouraging audiences to watch it. She also congratulated the team, including director Aditya Dhar, along with the cast and crew.
During her intimate pre-birthday meet-and-greet, Padukone also expressed pride over the massive success of the film. The actor also asked the audience if they had watched Dhurandhar. As soon as everyone replied with a loud chorus of "yes," she was seen beaming with joy.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge's box office performance
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as one of the biggest Hindi hits in recent years. The film recently crossed Rs 1,000 crore nett in India, setting a new benchmark for the industry while continuing a strong theatrical run. On Day 20, the film outperformed SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion, by becoming the second-highest film, behind Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, in terms of nett collection.
With its scale and sustained box office performance, Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to challenge records set by films such as Pushpa 2 and Dangal, reinforcing its position among the biggest commercial successes in Indian cinema.
