The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday acknowledged that a technical issue reported by its examination partner, TCS, affected the start of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 at certain centres on May 30.

The agency said the problem has been rectified and assured candidates that full compensatory time would be provided so that no student faces any disadvantage.

Under the revised arrangements, candidates scheduled for the afternoon session will be allowed to enter examination centres from 2:30 pm, with the test now set to begin at 4 pm instead of the earlier scheduled time of 3 pm.

NTA also clarified that candidates appearing in the morning session are being given the complete duration of the examination and will be allowed to leave only after finishing the full paper.

The agency expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to students and their parents due to the disruption.
