Google has temporarily reinstated all Indian apps in the ‘spirit of cooperation' after intervention from the government.

“In the spirit of cooperation, we are temporarily reinstating the apps of the developers with appeals pending in the Supreme Court," said a Google spokesperson.

The tech giant had earlier delisted Indian apps from the Play Store due to non-compliance with billing policies on March 1.

It removed more than 100 apps belonging to digital companies such as Bharat Matrimony, Info Edge (which operates Naukri, 99acres, and Jeevansathi), Shaadi.com, and Kuku FM from the Play Store.

"Google maintains its right to implement and enforce its business model, as established in various courts. We will invoice our full applicable services fees in the interim and are extending payment timelines for these companies," it said.

It had earlier reinstated some of the Indian apps it had delisted from its Play Store on Saturday, March 2, after the government stepped in to resolve the dispute by calling a meeting.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that the government strongly opposes Google's move to delist some apps.
