Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal embarked on a record-shattering spree during the ongoing Test match against England in the picturesque setting of Dharamsala, amidst the backdrop of the snow-capped Himalayas. Jaiswal became only the second Indian batter after Sunil Gavaskar to score over 700 runs in a single series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, with his exceptional talent and determination, became the fastest Indian to reach 1,000 runs in Test cricket, achieving this milestone in just 16 innings. This feat placed him ahead of cricketing legends such as Cheteshwar Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, and even the iconic Sunil Gavaskar, showcasing his rapid rise in the international cricket arena.

At the young age of 22 years and 70 days, Jaiswal also joined the elite list of the youngest Indian batters to amass 1,000 Test runs, a list that includes the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev. His youthful exuberance combined with his skilful batting has drawn comparisons with some of the greatest names in Indian cricket.

Jaiswal's batting average at the time of reaching 1,000 Test runs stood at an impressive 71.43, equalling Cheteshwar Pujara and only surpassed by Vinod Kambli's 83.33. This statistic not only highlights his consistency at the crease, but also his ability to play long and impactful innings for his team.

In the series against England, Jaiswal unleashed his prowess at hitting sixes, accumulating a total of 26 sixes in just 9 innings. This achievement made him the Indian batter with the most Test sixes against a single team, surpassing the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma. His fearless approach and ability to clear the boundary with ease have become a hallmark of his playing style.

Don Bradman scored 1000 runs in the longest format of the game in just seven Test matches and is still the fastest of the lot. Jaiswal has joined Herbert Sutcliffe, Everton Weekes, and George Headley as the second-fastest players to reach 1000 runs.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal broke Virat Kohli's all-time record by scoring one run in the first innings of the ongoing Dharamsala Test, becoming the player with the most runs in the India-England Test Series. He is now rapidly climbing up the all-time list of most runs scored in a single series in Test cricket, having amassed 707 runs thus far.
