Sachin Tendulkar is taking his curiosity beyond cricket, this time with ChatGPT. The former India batter has announced a partnership with OpenAI, saying he plans to explore more ways of using the AI chatbot and share his experiences with others.
Tendulkar made the announcement on Monday through a post on X. While he did not reveal many details about what the collaboration will include, he said there were “some interesting things” planned.
“I’m excited to announce my partnership with OpenAI. We have some interesting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with you,” Tendulkar wrote.

Tendulkar also gave a glimpse into his own experience with ChatGPT. He said his natural curiosity often leads him from one question to another, and the chatbot has become part of that process.
But his use of ChatGPT is not limited to asking questions or exploring topics. Tendulkar said he has also turned to the chatbot for practical tasks, including planning his most recent family trip.
“I’ve always been curious... One question usually leads to another, and ChatGPT has certainly encouraged that habit. But it has also proved useful when I’ve needed to get things done, like planning my last trip with the family,” he said.
The collaboration will allow Tendulkar to explore other uses of the chatbot and share what he finds useful. He said he also hopes his experience encourages people to try ChatGPT for things that interest them.
“A question, an idea, something you’ve always wanted to explore. There are so many places to start,” Tendulkar said.
A video shared alongside the announcement also shows Tendulkar playing a guessing game with ChatGPT. He asks the chatbot to identify him using 10 questions, eventually leading it to the correct answer.
OpenAI is expanding its India presence
The partnership comes as OpenAI continues to build its consumer and business presence in India. The company said in February that India had crossed 100 million weekly ChatGPT users, including students, teachers, developers and entrepreneurs.
OpenAI launched its “OpenAI for India” initiative in February, with plans covering AI access, education, workforce skills and local infrastructure. The company also announced a partnership with Tata Group around AI-ready data centre capacity.
The Tendulkar collaboration is focused on showing how ChatGPT can be used in everyday situations, rather than limiting its use to technology or business.
The announcement also drew a mix of reactions on X. Some users welcomed the partnership and said they were curious to see what Tendulkar discovers with ChatGPT, while others questioned the decision or joked about the cricket legend becoming associated with AI.
OpenAI has already been building a presence around Indian cricket. In a separate deal, the BCCI brought ChatGPT on board for India’s home matches, with the association running until March 2028. The partnership began with the West Indies series.
