Christian Horner is to leave his role as Red Bull team principal with immediate effect after 20 years, the F1 team announced on Wednesday. 

“Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his duties with effect from 9 July 2025, and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO,” read a statement from Red Bull.

Red Bull are currently fourth in the championship (172 pts), and trail leaders McLaren by 288 points.
