Cricketing legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a criminal case against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited in a Ranchi court. Diwakar allegedly entered into an agreement with MSD in 2017 to establish a cricket academy globally. However, Diwakar failed to adhere to the stipulated conditions outlined in the agreement. Aarka Sports was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits as per the agreement's terms, which were not honoured.

Despite numerous attempts, the terms and conditions specified in the agreement were disregarded. Consequently, MSD revoked the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports on August 15th, 2021, and sent several legal notices, but to no avail.

Dayanand Singh, representing MS Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, has asserted that they were deceived and cheated by Aarka Sports, resulting in a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.

Dhoni's friend Simant Lohani, popularly known as Chittu, has also filed a complaint, alleging that he was threatened and abused by Mihir Diwakar after they took legal action against Aarka Sports.

MS Dhoni only recently returned home after spending his New Year in Dubai. Dhoni was seen welcoming the New Year with his family and friends. India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was also seen with Dhoni during the trip. Dhoni also celebrated Christmas with his friends and family in Dubai.

Rishabh Pant had joined MS Dhoni after reaching Dubai for IPL 2024 mini-auction, which was held in the UAE on December 19 for the first time. Pant, who has been on the road to recovery after suffering multiple injuries in a life-threatening car crash in December 2022, sat with the Delhi Capitals team management during the auction.

Both MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant are expected to return to competitive action during IPL 2024, which is expected to be the former's farewell season in the cash-rich league. At 41, MS Dhoni overcame a wobbly knee to lead Chennai Super Kings to their fifth title in 2023.

MS Dhoni had a challenging phase as the former captain underwent knee surgery in June 2023. The procedure was successfully performed at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. His recuperation was a keen-followed topic and the cricket star spent time in Ranchi before he was seen in the public eye, trying out vintage cars and interacting with fans.
