In the Asia Cup 2025 match played between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was seen taunting Indian cricket team fans with the controversial 6-0 gesture. Several videos and pictures of Rauf making a 6-0 gesture to Indian fans while fielding near the boundary ropes are going viral on the internet.
The 6-0 is a reference to Pakistan’s baseless claims that they downed six Indian fighter jets during the four-day scuffle following Operation Sindoor.
In the match against India, which Pakistan lost by 6 wickets after failing to defend the total of 171 runs, Rauf bowled four overs and picked up two wickets for 26 runs. He opened his wicket account by dismissing Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav for a three-ball duck and then picked up Sanju Samson’s wicket.
While Abrar Ahmed caught Surya on the third ball of the 11th over of the run chase, Rauf breached Samson’s defence after he added 13 runs from 17 balls to India’s total.
Fans tease Rauf with Kohli chants
In the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s match, Indian fans present at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium teased Rauf with chants of ‘Virat Kohli’. Even though Kohli was not playing in the Super 4s match, fans used his name as a reference to tease Rauf.
Kohli had famously smacked Rauf for two back-to-back sixes in the 19th over of the India-Pakistan 2022 T20 World Cup match at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, 2022.
The clip of fans chanting Kohli’s name when Rauf was fielding near the boundary ropes is now going viral on the internet. Rauf reacted to the chants by asking fans to raise their voices.
