Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf got into a heated altercation with a fan after the team's group-stage exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. Rauf, who is a crucial member of the Pakistan squad, was caught on camera charging towards a fan, who seemed to be hurling abuses at the player. An agitated Rauf asked the fan if he was from India or not, to which the fan replied that he was from Pakistan.

The argument seemed to have originated after the fan had asked for a picture from Rauf. The fast bowler, who was with his wife might have been furious with the request from the fans. The viral video does not show how the matter escalated between the player and the fan.

Pakistan had a terrible outing at the T20 World Cup. The team was knocked out from the group stages after losing matches against USA and India. This was the first time that Pakistan were knocked out from group stage of a T20 World Cup in 10 years.

The team has been in turmoil since their exit from the T20 World Cup with fans and experts asking for the sacking of the majority of the team. Babar Azam has been in the eye of the storm and is expected to be called up by the PCB whenever he travels back to Pakistan. Babar was sacked from the captain after Pakistan's exit from the ODI World Cup in 2023 and was then re-instated in March, when PCB decided to snatch the captaincy back from Shaheen Shah Afridi.

"Jab se Babar Azam captain hain, hum boht mediocre, sorry for using this word, teams se haar rahe hain (ever since Babar became captain, we have been losing to mediocre teams)," Ahmad Shehzad lashed out on a TV show after Pakistan's exit from the T20 World Cup 2024.

"The kind of progress that was going on, these things were on the cards and bound to happen some day," he further added.

The Pakistan team is still in New York and are expected to fly back to Pakistan soon.
