Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's plane on Wednesday made an emergency landing at the Agra airport after developing a technical glitch. Adityanath, who addressed a rally in Agra, was safe and flew to Lucknow by another plane.
The pilot found an issue with the brakes after the plane took off for Lucknow from Agra. Following this, the plane was diverted back to Agra airport.
Adityanath, who did not suffer any injuries, was safe and officials escorted him to another plane to Lucknow.
The incident came two days after Adityanath's BJP government completed eight years in power in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing an event organised to mark eight years of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh earlier today, Adityanath accused the opposition of acting as "barriers" in the state's development.
He asserted that the situation was especially dire for the young people, farmers and the general public. "The youth was facing an identity crisis, farmers used to die by suicide and the poor used to die of hunger," he added.
Underscoring the progress made under his government, the Chief Minister said, "This is the same state where the youth did not get jobs and when they went out of the state, they faced an identity crisis," he said.
He criticised the Congress and the Samajwadi Party for allegedly "opposing development". "When it comes to the pride of Uttar Pradesh, these people first start making misleading comments," he alleged.
