Patna, Bihar — A bomb threat email has triggered a major security alert at the Patna Civil Court, causing panic and swift action by law enforcement agencies. Authorities evacuated the court premises and intensified security measures after receiving the message, officials said.

According to police, the threatening email was sent to the official address of a senior judge early Thursday morning, warning that explosives had been planted inside the Civil Court complex. The court and its surroundings were immediately cordoned off as bomb disposal squads and dog units were deployed for thorough checks.

No explosives have been found so far, and the situation remains under control. The police continued to comb the area meticulously, ensuring there were no suspicious items or devices. Court staff and visitors were evacuated as a precautionary measure, but normal judicial activity was disrupted for several hours.

Security officials described the threat as a possible hoax, but stressed that all steps were being taken to treat it as serious until proven otherwise. A case has been registered and investigators, including cyber crime teams, are working to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender.

This is not the first time courts in Bihar have received such threats; similar emails have previously targeted multiple civil courts including in Patna, Gaya, Kishanganj and other districts, prompting heightened vigilance across the state judiciary.

Police Statement:

Officials urged calm, emphasizing that there is no confirmed danger at present, and urged the public to cooperate with authorities while the probe continues.
