Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Motihari in Bihar today and launched development projects worth more than ₹7,200 crore. He also gave a big speech where he said his goal is to make Motihari like Mumbai — a city full of opportunities and progress.

What did PM Modi launch in Bihar?

  • Four new Amrit Bharat trains were introduced:

1)Patna (Rajendra Nagar) to New Delhi

    • Launching a maintenance facility for Vande Bharat trains in Patliputra

  • New roads and highways:

    • Four-laning of Ara Bypass (NH-319)

    • Opening of Parariya–Mohania road

    • Road from Sarwan to Chakai, which connects Bihar to Jharkhand

  • IT and start-up support:

    • New Software Technology Parks (STPI) in Patna and Darbhanga to help young entrepreneurs and IT companies grow

  • Fisheries projects:

    • New fish hatcheries, fish farms, and feed mills under PM Matsya Sampada Yojana

    • Aim: Create jobs and improve fish production in villages

Support for women and rural poor:

  • House keys given to 12,000 families under PM Awaas Yojana-Gramin

  • ₹160 crore released to help build homes for 40,000 families

What did PM Modi say in his speech?

  • Modi said: “To make eastern India stronger, Bihar must become a developed state.

  • He blamed the previous UPA government for giving very little money to Bihar and said that under the NDA government, Bihar has received much more support.

  • Earlier governments punished Bihar, now we’re helping it rise,” he said.

He shared a dream:

“One day, Motihari should be known in the East like Mumbai is in the West.”

He added:

  • Gaya should have opportunities like Gurugram

  • Patna should develop like Pune

  • Santhal Pargana should shine like Surat

  • Tourism in Jalpaiguri and Jajpur should grow like in Jaipur

  • Birbhum should progress like Bangalore

“In the last 11 years, over 4 crore houses have been built for the poor under PM Awaas Yojana out of which 60 lakh are in Bihar.”

– PM Modi

Operation Sindoor Mentioned

PM Modi also mentioned Operation Sindoor, a campaign he started years ago from Bihar to remove Kala-azar disease. He said the world now sees the success of that campaign, showing Bihar’s strength.

Political Impact

This visit is also important for elections in Bihar, expected soon.
Modi was joined by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and both Deputy CMs , showing unity in the NDA alliance.

The crowd cheered “Modi! Modi!” as he arrived in an open vehicle covered in flowers.

Opposition Reacts

RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav called the visit “a lie show” and accused Modi of making false promises. But the event drew large crowds and got strong media attention.

What happens next?

  • Rail and road projects will be completed in the coming months and years.

  • The SHG money and housing funds will reach people soon.

  • The new IT parks will open for start-ups in August.

  • Fisheries projects will accept applications from September 1.

PM Modi’s visit was not just about starting projects, it was also about elections coming up.

Every time polls come near, big promises and new trains arrive. This time, it’s Motihari’s turn to hear dreams of becoming the next Mumbai. His speech was filled with big dreams and local pride, and he used the event to remind voters that his government is investing in Bihar’s future.

Whether these promises bring real changes before the elections is something only time will tell. But for now, four new trains are running, and thousands of families have new hope for homes, jobs, and better roads — just like before every election.
