One person was shot dead and two severely injured after clashes erupted in Bihar's Saran between BJP and RJD workers on Tuesday. Two people have been detained in connection with the violence and the internet has been suspended for two days.

A ruckus broke out between the workers of the two parties after RJD's Saran candidate and daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav Rohini Acharya reached a booth in Chapra city on Monday evening before voting ended in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls.

The locals accused her of booth raiding. Locals also alleged that Rohini Acharya and her supporters misbehaved with some voters after reaching the booth. As a ruckus ensued, she hastily left the spot.
