The Supreme Court has directed the State Bank of India to disclose all details related to the electoral bonds which allowed individuals and companies to make donations to political parties.

SBI Chairman is required to file an affidavit after declaring all details of the bonds by 5 pm, Thursday, stating it has not suppressed any details, the Supreme Court ordered.

SBI is required to disclose all details including alphanumeric number and the serial number of bonds, if any purchased or redeemed, the Supreme Court pronounced adding that the Election Commission shall publish the details forthwith on their website after receiving from SBI.

"The judgement was clear that all details need to be disclosed...don't be selective," Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said, asking to ensure that nothing had been suppressed.

"We want all information related to the electoral bonds to be disclosed which is in your possession. We are presuming you are not appearing here for the political party," the Chief Justice added.

Noting that the electoral bond details shared by SBI were incomplete, a five-judge bench had earlier issued a notice to the bank to explain the lapse and had posted the matter for hearing on March 18.

"Every conceivable detail should be disclosed.. SBI is duty bound to comply with the judgement of this court," the Supreme Court today ordered,
