Claims filed after Sept 30 will be considered: ECI to top court on Bihar SIR
Claims, objections filed over voter roll revision in Bihar will be considered even if they are filed after September 30, the Election Commission said during hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday. The top court was hearing pleas filed by state's political leaders praying for extension of the September 1 deadline to file claims/objections to the draft list published by the poll body.
The Supreme Court, during the hearing, noted that the poll body has assured that claims and objections can be filed even after September 30 and that the revisions will continue till the last date of filing of nominations.
Further, the top court ordered deployment of paralegal volunteers of the legal services authority to help with the filing of claims and objection form online.
